Coming off wins in Darwin and Townsville (where all three FPR-prepared cars finished in the top-five), Ford Performance Racing is in great shape for a real shot at this year’s L&H 500 title.

After another successful test session at Winton earlier this week, the FPR Falcons are wound up and ready to continue their great form.

“The team’s itching to get back onto the track,” Team Principal Tim Edwards said.

“The cars are in the best shape they’ve been in all year and with some promising feedback from our test last week we’re confident we’ll be able to pick up where we left off from in Townsville,” he said.

“Frosty, Richo, James and Luke are all pumped-up and raring to go … the boys are hungry for another podium,” Edwards added.

Joining Mark Winterbottom aboard the Orrcon Steel FPR Falcon will be experienced Sydney racer Luke Youlden, while Bathurst-rookie James Moffat will be making his V8 Supercar main series debut alongside Steven Richards in the Dunlop Super Dealer FPR Falcon.

“I’ve never been so keen to get back in the car and go racing,” Frosty said.

“The test this week went really well, there’s a few new bits and pieces that we’ve been working on that are sending us all the right signals …. Luke’s also feeling good in the car and has been training really hard so I’m confident we’re going to have a pretty good weekend at the Island,” Frosty wryly said.

Dunlop Super Dealer racer Steve Richards was also fired up for next weekend’s opening enduro race.

“We just missed out on the podium in Townsville and after the test on Monday I think the car feels even better than it did then, so I’m really looking forward to next weekend.

“Moff and I are in tune on this one … we’re both reading the same lines when it comes to the car’s feedback, so setting it up so it works for both of us isn’t going to be an issue … I just can’t wait to get out there,” Richo grinned.
